Tasting notes
Kracher's 2013 Blend 2 is an assemblage of Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Illmitz on sandy and gravelly soils. The wine is a classic claret, pure and fresh, very elegant and silky, yet riper, sweeter and higher in alcohol than an Atlantic wine. Aged for 24 months in barrels, the wine reveals fine, ripe tannins, a good grip and a good intensity in the finish. It's persistently fresh and has some minty flavors in the finish. Drink this fruit-intense blend slightly cool and with barbecue or duck.
