Tasting notes
Krug ID 316033: Light orange-toned colour. Refined, savoury nose showing charred characters, smoke, orange blossom and apricot. The wild, animally side of the wine starting to raise its head. Linear, fresh and long, still holding back a lot on the refined and airy palate.

Based on the 2008 vintage. Disgorged in 2016. The broad nose of a fully mature wine. There is considerable evolution here but it's still in good shape. The (agreeable) bitterness on the end is more pronounced than in the 26th and 27th editions. (JR)
This is creamy textured with dried and cooked strawberries as well as iron and mineral undertones. Medium-bodied with real class and focus with a wonderful creamy texture. Subtle and long. Hints of cotton candy.
In 2009 one skipped the rosé, but with 2008 as the base year, 57 wines were used down to reserve wine from 2000. Sour youthful champagne worth the wait. Refined light pink color with abundant mousse. Nice sophisticated aroma of rose petals, currants, raspberries, smoked meat and grapefruit. The same aromas dominate the taste with berry notes initially, more substance and smokiness in the middle taste and a sour slightly bitter reverberation of blood grape.
About the producer

Krug is a remarkable Champagne House which only makes prestige cuvées. The wines – with their distinctive rich, complex, oxidative style – are some of the region’s best.
