Very pale rose colour. Gentle and fresh. There's an undertow of light acidity and light tannin but all is in balance. Very slightly dusty but really charming and such low alcohol. (JR)

Produced exclusively with the fruit from the old Jacques Puffeney vineyard, the 2016 Arbois Poulsard is the second vintage of a very pale, floral and light red that many could call a rosé, with the character of the grape and Burgundian precision and clarity. The destemmed grapes fermented in oak vats and aged in oak foudre for ten months. It's really fresh, light and tasty. They produced 4,000 bottles in this second vintage. It was bottled in October 2017.

Cask sample but ready for bottling. First vintage was 2015. 12 months in tank or foudre. Very pale red with a slight orange colour. Smells of really tart red fruit – rosehip and a touch of spiced orange and perhaps slightly bloody. Lightweight, super-fresh, dry and still juicy. It has the grip of a wiry but strong hand. Lovely, mouth-watering finish and so much more to come. Finishes with a long, sour-cherry aftertaste. Goes on and on. (JH)
