Pale, bright straw-yellow. Subtly complex scents of orange blossom, ripe yellow peach, oatmeal and spicy, nutty oak. Rich, ripe and mouthfilling, with a brisk line of lemon-curd acidity supporting the wine's serious flesh and sweet stone fruit flavors. Finishes quite firm, spicy, dry and very long, with some obvious oak spices but plenty of supporting stone fruit intensity. Seriously good, rich Chardonnay for mid-term aging. Held up well in the recorked bottle.

The 2015 The Art of Chardonnay is one that JC Meyer suggested might have been picked a little tardy. That said, any over-ripeness or loss of clarity does not come across on the nose. The palate is fresh on the entry with just a touch of barley sugar that perhaps does suggest it could have been picked earlier, although the acidity is nicely judged and there is a slightly viscous finish that is attractive, even if it does not have the nervosité of the 2016.
