Tasting notes
Fresh lime and white peach are garlanded in iris and accented with seed and pit piquancy on the nose. The palate offers correspondingly animating citricity and piquant counterpoint to succulent ripe white peach. Musky inner-mouth perfume follows all the way through a brightly refreshing and mouthwateringly salt-tinged finish in which the fruit and flowers alternate almost kaleidoscopically with crystalline stony impingements.

RS 1 g/l, TA 6.9 g/l. Crisp and precise on the palate with tons of lemon fruit. Stops short of complexity, but does leave some savoury mineral notes to finish. (RH)
Knoll's 2016 Steiner Riesling Ried Pfaffenberg Kabinett (from the Kremstal but marketed as wine from Lower Austria: Niederösterreich) is pretty reductive on the nose and offers bright fruit and floral as well as flinty aromas. Pure, dry and crisp on the palate, this is a firmly structured and well-concentrated Riesling at 12.5% alcohol though it needs some years to get rid of the sulfuric notes.
