Tasting notes
This fruit-driven Chateauneuf du Pape reveals plenty of Provencal typicity, soft tannin, good body, and a Grenache-dominated character. The 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape possesses a more expansive personality, lower acidity, and additional flesh than the 2001. The aromas and flavors are similar to those found in the 2001. It should be consumed during its first decade of life. Importer: Chateau and Estates Wine Co., New York, NY; tel. (212) 527-7724

(tasted from foudre; 70% grenache, 20% syrah and 10% mourvedre) Medium ruby-red. Cherry and currant liqueur lifted by licorice. Sweet, smooth and moderately dense, with reasonably good flavor definition. Nicely concentrated and long, finishing with substantial but ripe tannins.
