2014 St. Veran C.C.P.

(from north-facing vines to the north of Clos de Poncetys in Davayé): Bright yellow. Deep, musky scents of minerals, smoke and nuts, plus a hint of honeysuckle; more classic than the 2015s that preceded it in my tasting. Can't quite match the richness of the 2015s but boasts more inner-mouth tension despite possessing only moderate acidity, as there's more musky minerality and edgy lemony fruit here. Finishes salty and dry, with good verve and subtle length.
