This is 70% Grenache with the remainder equal parts Syrah and Mourvèdre. Aromas of ripe raspberry, red plum and cherry, with herbs, pepper and a whole bunch of sappiness, too. The palate has radiant, regal tannins in fine proportion. Super fresh. Best from 2020.
With all of its power and richness, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cuvee du Papet is a huge step above the regular bottling. Subtle cinnamon dusts slices of stone fruit and ripe cherries on the nose, but this is an old-school, savory wine with plenty of tannic bite that deserves some time in the cellar so that peppery licorice complexities can emerge. (JC)
the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape reveals a medium ruby color as well as pretty, perfumed notes of red and black fruits, dried earth, and garrigue. Elegant and lively on the palate, with a firm, focused, yet elegant and balanced style, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for a decade at a minimum.
