This Chateauneuf du Pape lookalike has ample ground herbs, tobacco leaf, olive tapenade and assorted mature Grenache fruit characteristics to go with a full-bodied, still tannic, firm, and muscular feel on the palate. Well-stored bottles of this meaty, classic and powerful ‘15 will have a decade of longevity.

The 2015 Côtes du Rhône Villages is no exceptions and offers medium to full-bodied richness, lots of black fruits, peppery herbs, charcoal and licorice aromas and flavors, and a chewy, full bore texture. Made from 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, it will drink well for 6-7 years and is a serious 2015. Oct 2016, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2016-2023
