Tasting notes
A dense and rich red with blackberry and berry character. Medium body and a walnut finish. All here. Another rockstar wine from here. Apr 17, www.jamessuckling.com

This is well-built, with dark plum, boysenberry and cherry preserve notes, layered with hints of black tea, graphite and warm anise. Has heft and cut. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
The 2016 Domaine de l’A is plush and inviting. Dark cherry, chocolate and spice are pushed forward, and an aromatic lift from the Cabernet Franc appears on the midpalate and finish. This is an especially dense, rich wine for the appellation. Time should help the tannins settle down a bit. There is certainly plenty to look forward to. One of the big developments here has been a move to increase the Cabernet Franc, which is now around 30 percent, from the previous 15-20 percent. This is a hugely appealing wine from Stéphane Derenoncourt. Tasted two times. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
The 2016 Domaine de l'A, the estate of Stéphane Derenoncourt, has a rich and decadent bouquet with lashings of bilberry and blueberry fruit. The palate is sweet and fleshy with soft tannin, rounded without a single hard edge, but it is missing tension and detail on the finish. It just seems rather out of sync with the style of the vintage. Apr 17, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2019-2025 Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2019-2025
