Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2020-2034, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2024

Still very tight with a dry finish and marked acidity. Hint of passion fruit. Still very youthful so no hurry to drink. Complex. (JR)

Magnum sourced in the UK for Pol's 175th anniversary celebration in London. 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 20 grand cru and premiers cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Aged in bottle for eight years. Deep gold. Gorgeous mature nose and then a certain light but flattering butteriness as well as a golden-fruit impression. (JR)

Score 17/20 · Drink 2021-2035, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2022

Still quite firm but with great intensity and depth. A structured champagne with lots of life ahead of it and one in which Pol's relatively high dosage was not evident. (JR)

All grands and premiers crus. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay. Aged eight years on the lees.. Dosage 7 g/l. Disgorged 17 October 2016. Tasted blind. Rather simpler nose than the other vintage of Pol Roger tasted alongside [the 2009]. Lots of lemon on the palate – lemon soufflé. Then it falls away a little. Very brisk (a clue ignored?)! 2009? (JR)
