Tasting notes
This is 70% Grenache with the remainder equal parts Syrah and Mourvèdre. Aromas of ripe raspberry, red plum and cherry, with herbs, pepper and a whole bunch of sappiness, too. The palate has radiant, regal tannins in fine proportion. Super fresh. Best from 2020.

Slightly darker in color, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Papet offers gorgeous notes of black cherries and currant fruit intermixed with plenty of tapenade, pepper, garrigue, lots of minerality. It shows the vintage style with its moderate concentration, yet is fine, elegant and silky, and has a beautiful finish. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following decade.
With all of its power and richness, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cuvee du Papet is a huge step above the regular bottling. Subtle cinnamon dusts slices of stone fruit and ripe cherries on the nose, but this is an old-school, savory wine with plenty of tannic bite that deserves some time in the cellar so that peppery licorice complexities can emerge.
