Tasting notes
The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape from Raymond Usseglio has it all. Complex aromas of spice, leather and plum. Appealing flavors of red and black fruits. A rich, supple texture. A long, velvety finish that echoes with spice and citrus zest. This all-around performer should drink well for up to two decades.

The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a classic, balanced red from this estate. Black fruits, lots of minerality, garrigue and pepper aromatics all give way to a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated 2015 that has enough tannic grip to warrant short-term cellaring. This cuvée is 80% Grenache and the rest Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault, and it’s brought up mostly in concrete tanks (2% in new barrels). This is an estate readers need to have on their radar as the quality has continued to improve in just about every vintage.
