Tasting notes
The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige Blanc switches up the varietal mix. A blend of 80% barrel-fermented Roussanne with steel-fermented and aged Grenache Blanc and Clairette, it offers up toasty, nutty scents of roasted cashews, pineapple and coconut. It's a cavalcade of bold flavors, broad on the palate yet long and briny on the finish. It should prove capable of aging up to a decade, but I'd opt for drinking it young for its flamboyant exuberance.

Vivid yellow. Heady aromas of ripe pear, nectarine and white flowers, joined by candied ginger, iodine and mineral nuances that gain strength as the wine opens up. Rich yet extremely energetic and light on its feet, offering sappy, deeply concentrated orchard and pit fruit and honeysuckle flavors that are given spine and lift by a core of juicy acidity. The floral and mineral notes linger impressively on a very long, seamless finish that shows superb clarity and power.
