The 2015 Chassagne Montrachet Village from Domaine Bernard Moreau is very good, offering up a pretty nose of buttered orchard fruit, pasty cream and subtle hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and succulent, with the cut and substance to sustain bottle age, and a long, sappy finish. The 2015 vintage has resulted in a bit more mid-palate generosity than this cuvée possesses in cooler years, but its character remains firmly intact.

(Moreau owns 6.5 hectares of Chassagne villages in several parcels and his single bottling of this wine typically represents 45% of the estate's total production): Ripe but slightly muted aromas of peach and white flowers. Sweet, pliant, graceful wine with good reserve to its ripe pear flavor. At once fat and lively, this very pure, rich village wine finishes fresh.
Tank sample. Very exciting and dramatic. Better – and cheaper – than the Puligny! (JR)
Pale yellow. Very ripe aroma of orange juice. Fat and sweet, with slightly exotic flavors of pineapple and lichee. Finishes with good dusty texture but a slight blowsiness.
