Intense, almost cheesy, nose – perhaps the lees character. Then pure-fruited and oaky on the palate. A very nice slight grip in the texture and marked intensity. The palate far better than the nose suggested. (JH)

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes has a light and crisp nose with yellow flowers married with the citrus fruit. The palate is simple, but balanced with peachy and mango notes on the entry. It is quite waxy in texture with moderate weight, although it does not quite grab the terroir with both hands, so to speak. Let's see if it improves by the time of bottling.
