Very pale greenish-yellow. Subtle aromas of lemon, pear, white flowers and minerals. Supple and round in the mouth, showing the sweetness of the vintage and a rather open-knit texture that should offer early pleasure. A distinctly soft premier cru with lemon drop and white pepper flavors but firms up nicely on the finish and maintains its shape.

Chalky, bright palate. Fairly light core fruit intensity – though the persistence is good. A very delicate Chablis. (RH)

The 2015 Chablis 1Er Cru Montmains, which comes from parcels located in Butteaux, Fôret and Montmains itself, had a pleasant reductive note on the nose that did not seem to impede the terroir expression. The palate is taut and focused, fresh right from the start with a crisp line of acidity, full of energy and tension. Dare I say, this is more like a 2014 on the finish thanks to its tension. This is certainly worth seeking out.
