Tasting notes
Bright cherry fruit, sweet and simple. Finely ground tannic structure on the palate, perhaps lacking a bit of weight and interest in the middle. (RH) (JR)

Bright, dark red. Subdued aromas of black cherry, licorice and spices. In a tougher, slightly musclebound style, conveying modest flesh and flavor interest. Perhaps simply a bit mute at present, this village wine shows strong menthol reserve but today its substantial tannins cut off the dark cherry and bitter chocolate flavors. This wine possesses good inherent energy but will need at least a few years to sort itself out.
The 2015 Aloxe-Corton Village has a lively bouquet with crisp redcurrant and cranberry fruit, hints of early grey and gravel emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with lightly spiced black cherry and blueberry fruit. It is not a complex village cru, yet it is well balanced and has a sense of joy on the finish.
