(13.2% alcohol; 25 hectoliters per hectare produced; entirely destemmed): Bright medium red. Reticent aromas of redcurrant, soil and spices; more savory and less black than the Champs-Pimont, without quite the lift of that wine. Supple but a bit withdrawn, turning darker and more medicinal with air; I find this very bound-up today. But more energetic on the back end, which features a firm tannic spine and a piquant juiciness. Gublin noted that this wine has a full four grams per liter of tartaric acidity.

Medium yellow. Very fresh, almost metallic lemony aroma. Offers very good mid-palate energy and good lemony cut and intensity. Finishes tactile, savory and quite firm; there's nothing easy about this wine in the early going.

(destemmed): Bright dark red. Very dark aromas of blueberry, black cherry, chocolate mint and licorice. Densely packed, ripe and chocolatey, but with lovely freshness and inner-mouth tension; reminded me of a Bordeaux from the Right Bank. The gunflint and gravel notes come from the small rocks in the vineyard. Saturates the mouth with fruit and dusts the aftertaste with ripe tannins.

The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Greves Blanc has a light resinous, honeysuckle-scented bouquet that just needs to muster a little more intensity. The palate is juicy and ripe on the entry with grapefruit and Conference pear notes, quite saline in the mouth, and perhaps just missing the length that a cooler season might have bestowed. Enjoy this over the next 5-6 years.
