Tasting notes
Good bright, dark red. Rather restrained aromas of ripe raspberry and spun sugar. Enters the mouth intense and almost roasted, conveying a strong impression of the hot vintage. Then distinctly more taut in the middle palate than the village Vosne, with its dark berry and mineral flavors showing little of that wine's sweetness. I find these tannins quite tough today and in need of resolution and I wonder if this wine was stressed by drought in 2015.

Here the expressive and agreeably fresh nose is compositionally similar to that of the Chaignots but with a bit more elegance thanks to the more pronounced floral character. In the same fashion there is more minerality present on the sleek, vibrant and well-detailed flavors that possess a distinctly different texture on the focused, indeed even linear finish that is firmer still. At least some patience required. In a word, lovely. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
