2015 Aloxe Corton Les Varoziers

The 2015 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozières is a youthful classic, revealing aromas of sweet red berries, cassis, tobacco leaf, chestnuts and rich soil. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, sapid and complete, with strikingly refined tannins for a young Aloxe (though Valozières, from just below Corton Bressandes, does often seem to share some of the gourmand qualities of the latter), with bright acids and a deep core of fruit that lingers on the sappy finish.
