Score 92/100 · Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, Dec 2025

As with the previous wine, the NV Champagne Solessence Extra Brut Rose is a blend from 2022 with perpetual reserve wine, with 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and the remainder Pinot Noir. Boasting a bright salmon/pink color and a more fruity feel initially, aromas of pink grapefruit, quince, strawberries, and delicate floral and spice notes lift from the glass. Medium-bodied, it glides smoothly across the palate and offers a rounded, pillowy mousse with a ripe yet elegant floral finish. This highly charming rosé is ready to drink now or over the next several years.

Disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of 1.5 grams per liter, this rosé counterpart is likewise anchored in the 2022 vintage. Sélèque’s latest NV Extra-Brut Solessence Rosé includes 5% Pinot Noir red wine from 2020, while 10% of the Pinot Meunier component underwent maceration. The assemblage consists of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir, incorporating 40% reserve wines matured in a perpetual reserve. Aromatically expressive, it opens with notes of raspberry, orange peel and brioche. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and demonstrative, with ripe yet vibrant acidity, displaying a rich fruit core and phenolic grip that makes an even more assertive impression than its white counterpart.

The NV Champagne Solessence Rosé Extra Brut pours a bright salmon hue and is made from 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and the rest Pinot Noir, with the base vintage coming from 2020 and the rest from perpetual reserve. A floral and welcoming wine, it lifts with a perfume of fresh roses, croissant dough, fresh peaches, and red raspberry. Medium-bodied and energetic on the palate, it turns more to its chalky and citrus profile on the palate, with notes of grapefruit pith and salty earth. Fully dry, it offers a pinpoint mousse and a crisp, clean lift of bright acidity to close it out with a mouthwatering finish. It’s a snappy style to enjoy over the next 5-6 years.

A very striking rosé with strawberry-cream and watermelon aromas, in a super fresh mode. The palate has a very deep and vinous texture with fresh wild strawberries and raspberries, delivered in a zesty and appealing style that really holds impressive depth and detail. Beautiful, berry-biscuit finish. This is made using the Solessence base blend, to which is added 10% pinot-meunier juice after two days of maceration and 5% red pinot noir. Drink or hold.
