Tasting notes
Golden flecked, vivid and alive in the glass in the glass. Ozone, with a seashore, saline quality on the nose. Very clean and clear on the palate, then toasted butter, brioche, baked apple and spice. Powerful, rich and utterly delicious.

Slightly closed at this youthful stage, the 2013 Cloudburst Chardonnay opens with lemon juice, chalk dust and lime peel aromas with faint butterscotch, powdered ginger and Marmite hints. The medium-bodied palate delivers wonderful tension and mouth-filling citrus and stony flavors with a silken texture and a long finish that builds in savory complexity.
2,888 bottles made. Quite rich with the merest hint of Coche reduction. Really round fruit yet lively and vibrant. This has lasted well but is fruit-dominated rather than subtle and savoury. Well made. (JR)
