(from Les Drazeys, Les Argillières and Les Fremières). A wonderfully fresh, ripe and well-layered nose combines notes of various dark berries with those of spice, rose petal and violet nuances. There is solid volume and mid-palate density to the velvet-textured middle weight flavors that terminate in a firm, serious and lingering finish. This is a relatively robust Chambolle villages. The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a well-defined bouquet although compared to the Morey Saint-Denis Village, I could just feel the whole bunch fruit coming through more, imparting more undergrowth-like aromas. The palate is marked by tart red cherry and cranberry fruit, its spiciness on the back palate and the firm, almost Morey-like structure on the finish. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
