Tasting Notes
Hints of white truffle and yeasty white bread share aromatic billing with intimations of the white peach syrup shot through with fresh lemon that then dominates a glossy palate. A fascinating animal-mineral savor, pleasantly akin to sweat, serves for tangy invigoration and mouthwatering salinity. This savor, like the wine’s bright citricity, checks and complements its sweetness on a sustained finish. There is likely to be some genuine excitement as this matures, though I can pretend to little experience with older Wittmann Auslesen.

A surprisingly light imprint on the nose – apricot, peaches and grapefruit peel. Then almost shocking intensity on the palate. Racy. Thoroughbred. Tirelessly long. Fine as a violin soprano holding that highest note, on and on and on. Golden apples and marmalade linger on the finish. (TC)
