Tasting notes
Vivid ruby-red. Smoky, spice-accented dark berry and cherry aromas are complicated by hints of pipe tobacco, garrigue and anise. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering juicy dark berry and bitter cherry flavors that put on weight as the wine opens up. Dusty tannins sneak in late on a long, subtly sweet, smoky finish that leaves a note of cherry pit behind.

The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape le Parvis showed well from barrel last year, and didn’t disappoint this go around. Possessing more focus and freshness than the 2014, it has clean, classy notes of blackberries, crushed rock, cracked pepper and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, with good concentration and nicely integrated acidity, it will evolve gracefully for 5-7 years.
