Tasting notes
Based on the regular Clos des Goisses the 2006 Clos des Goisses Just Rosé Brut gets its very light but fascinating apricot color by blending in 5% or 6% of red Goisses wine. Highly delicate and fruity on the palate, with lovely fruit and delicate iodine and chalky flavors, this is a fascinatingly round and delicate Rosé that reveals an intense and lovely fruity finish. Everything here is highly finessed, round, rich but pure and mineral. "2006 was a pleasant, very easy and beautifully fruity vintage, similar to 2004 but more fruity than floral." Disgorged in February 2017. 2,220 bottles made. Tasted April 2018.

The 2006 Clos des Goisses Rosé is a deceptively powerful Champagne. Pale in color, as it always is, the 2006 Rosé packs a serious punch. Deep, exquisitely layered and persistent on the palate, the 2006 offers a compelling interplay of power and finesse. The Clos des Goisses Rosé is the same base as the Blanc, with the addition of 9% Pinot vinified with the saignée method (rather than still). This is one of the best versions of the Juste Rosé I have tasted. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged June 2016.
Disgorgement Feb 2017, dosage 4.5 g/l. 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay. 40% fermented in oak. No malo. Pale apricot colour. Smells so ripely fruited with peach and apricot that you might even expect it to be sweet. But it is of course dry, super fresh, less intense than the Clos des Goisses 2007 and Les Cintres, gently rounded. Lightly chewy on the finish and a long elegant aftertaste. (JH)
Outstanding rosé from the Clos. An excellent year, ripe and generous. It has a lovely rose petal and salmon colour, with ethereal scents showcasing delicacy and finesse. The price reflects its scarcity. Jun 2017, www.decanter.com
