Score 89/100 · Drink 2017-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2017

The 2011 Brut Rosé is a reasonably good wine for the year, but the green, vegetal notes that are such a vintage signature are nevertheless present. There is just enough depth to the fruit to provide a measure of balance. The 2011 Brut Rosé is certainly better than the vintage wine of the same year. At the same time, it is hard to imagine why a house of Roederer's standing felt compelled to release this Champagne.

Very pale salmon colour, with a strangely herbal palate and a touch of mustiness that doesn't seem like taint, but doesn't seem congruous with the style either. Surely not in ideal condition? (RH)
