Limpid ruby. Intense, highly perfumed blue fruit and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suggestions of allspice and licorice. Silky and focused on the palate, offering concentrated boysenberry and cherry flavors that take a darker turn as the wine opens up. Finishes impressively long, displaying lingering berry and floral nuances, gentle tannins and a touch of smoky minerals.
Tasted blind. Dark greyish crimson. Opulent with notes of candied rose petals. Just a little too dusty for perfection but very well done. Needs a bit of time for the tannins to resolve though. (JR)
