Attractively scented. Round and plummy. Hugely satisfying with both fruit and stony notes. Sappy. Very long. Bravo!

The 2015 Chateau Villars felt a little withdrawn at first, gradually finding its voice with minty red berry fruit, though it felt rather pinched. The palate is medium-bodied with smudged red and black fruit, quite firm tannin in the mouth, and demonstrating better delineation and finesse on the finish. The palate actually deserves a better nose at the moment. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
