Tasting notes
Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, Moreau-Naudet's 2014 Chablis 1er Cru la Forêts has a fresh, flinty bouquet with lemon thyme and orange blossom scents gradually opening in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with red apples and fresh pear. It is not an extraordinarily complex Chablis but it is cohesive and animated with a pleasant twist of bitter lemon that enlivens that nervous finish. This represents a well-crafted Chablis whose ambitions are perhaps only curtailed by the limitations of the vineyard.

Rather subdued nose but crystalline palate with almost eye-watering acidity. Needs time and is relatively light-bodied. (JR)
