Tasting notes
Picked on November 5 and 10, the golden-yellow colored 2014 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Honivogl offers a deep and noble, ground bouquet with ripe and concentrated (pineapple) fruit aromas that are perfectly intertwined with stony and zesty flavors. The attack on the palate is pure, fresh and mineral, very complex and very long. There is a lot of finesse and vitality, also tension and lovely pineapple flavors at the moment. But everything is discreet here and the elegance and finesse, as well as the vibrant freshness, are remarkable. So much tension, salt and finesse. A great Veltliner from the 2014 vintage. Very persistent but not powerful. Highly recommend.

muskmelon, summer squash and beet dominate a glossy and expansive palate on which hazelnut and pepper provide a satisfyingly piquant and nippy counterpoint. A saline undertone gets the saliva flowing in a soothing and stimulating finish. There is less primary juiciness, but predictably more richness and textural allure here than in the corresponding Axpoint, as well as greater length.
