Score 94/100 · Drink 2018-2033, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Dec 2018

Kollwentz’s 2013 Burgenland Chardonnay Gloria opens with a very clear, fine and Burgundian sur lie nose of white fruits, chalk, nougat and candied oranges. Aged on the lees for 18 months in Burgundian pièces, this is a fascinating terroir wine with great finesse and expression. The 2013 is well-concentrated yet fine, very long and of remarkable elegance. The finish is so fine and salty, so stimulating and long! A great Austrian Chardonnay from a fascinating, southeast-facing vineyard located 200 to 325 meters above sea level and planted on on chalky loam soils. Tasted June 2018.
