Tasting notes
The deep, inky colored 2012 Igp Côtes Catalanes Infiniment de L'Ou (100% Syrah vinified and aged in new barrels) comes from vines around the estate, in the southern part of the Roussillon. It offers a ripe, concentrated, yet still elegant style to go with lots of darker fruits (blackcurrants, plums), graphite and licorice aromas and flavors. It’s a big, full-bodied, sexy red to drink through 2025.

Starting off a retrospective of the Infiniment cuvee and sporting a vibrant, inky purple color, the 2012 IGP Côtes Catalanes Infiniment de l’Ou is made from 100% Syrah, from yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare, that was vinified and aged in new oak. It has awesome notes of black raspberry and cassis intermixed with lots of spice, toasted bread and roasted meat-like nuances. Full-bodied, yet seamless and elegant, it has a stacked mid-palate, building tannin and a blockbuster finish. This is high class all the way. It should evolve nicely for over a decade, yet I see no reason to delay gratification either.
