The 2014 Chateau les Grands Chenes has a light, slightly chocolaty bouquet with sandalwood notes infusing the light red fruit. I would have liked to see more terroir expression here. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly rigid tannin. This is very classic in style, the second half demonstrating more precision and tension than the first half and finishing in pleasing style. I will be conservative with my score as the aromatics need to improve. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
