2014 Pichon Baron

Tasting Notes
There is depth and power to this and sweet punchy fruit. This is very Baron in style: more boisterous and more powerful than neighbouring Pichon-Lalande, though not quite the finesse. This has weight and muscle. One of the biggest and most powerful wines of the vintage. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2015.

Features a solid core of dark plum and blackberry fruit, backed by judicious toast that allows tobacco and loam hints to emerge in end. This picks up steam through the finish, showing ample base notes.—J.M. Wine Spectator, April 2015.
Irony and smoky intensity on the very youthful nose. Really rich and tannic, but as it flows over your palate it becomes more and more suave and complex. This is a concentrated, long-term wine that demands some patience but should richly reward it. Try in 2022. Feb 2017, www.jamessuckling.com
