This is darker and totally different in profile to the d'Armailhac. Spicy sweet fruit. There is some fruit here, some extract, and lots of gloss to this. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2015.

Rich and dark, with refined evolution. Aromas of tobacco, graphite and hints of cigar, cedar, paprika, berries and black fruit. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate but fluid, with tight, fine-grained tannins. 58% cabernet sauvignon, 29% merlot, 11% cabernet franc, 1% petit verdot and 1% carmenere. Drink now. From a vertical tasting at the chateau.

The 2014 Clerc Milon has a vivacious and forward bouquet with cedar and graphite-infused black fruit, violet traces emerging with time, oozing with class. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, graphite once more defining the appellation. It's tensile and almost citrus-fresh on the finish. Plenty of energy is evident in this Pauillac, which should guarantee its longevity. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Deepest garnet. Rich, ripe and generous with fresh black fruit. A touch minty. Firm, chewy, dry and fresh. Harmonious and refined. Long, too. Needs time. Juicy and fresh on the finish. (JH)
