About the producer
The property’s origins date back to the French Revolution, with the name coming from the Clerc family who bought it – joining their name to the hamlet of Milon, where the vineyard is located. The 30-hectare Pauillac estate’s potential was recognised in the 1855 classification, when it was named a Fifth Growth. The property went largely unknown and neglected for the next century, however, until it was bought by the Rothschilds in 1970 – then just 15 hectares.
