Bright, deep ruby-red. Very closed but pure nose hints at black raspberry, iron, licorice, espresso and smoky oak. Dense and thick but also boasts terrific energy and lift. At once crunchy and very ripe, with superb intensity to the very unevolved middle palate. Outstanding energy and lift here but this will need time to expand. Finishes with lush tannins and great persistence. I'd like to follow this for the next 15 or 20 years.

(tasted at the end of its malo) Bright ruby-red color. Black fruits, minerals and a meaty nuance on the classic Chambertin nose. Penetrating and powerful but less silky and more imploded than most of the Dujac 2008s, but already showing terrific lift. The vinification with 80% whole clusters has give this wine a medicinal, peppery element that only adds to the impression of tightly coiled energy. Finishes extremely primary and long, with a firm tannic spine to support a long and glorious evolution in bottle.
