Tasting notes
Full ruby. Intense red berry and floral pastille scents are sharpened by suggestions of smoky minerals and white pepper. Sweet, penetrating and energetic, offering lively raspberry and lavender flavors and an exotic touch of blood orange. Shows excellent focus and bite on the finish, which is firmed by silky tannins and a smoky mineral flourish.

A big, rich, medium to full-bodied effort, the 2013 Gigondas Cuvee Valbelle is 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah that saw the same vinification and elevage as the three single vineyard releases. It offers classic notes of graphite, black currants, toasted spice and lavender, to go with a superb mid-palate, beautiful fruit intensity and a great finish. While slightly more approachable than the single vineyard releases it still will be better with short term cellaring and drink nicely through 2025.
Brilliant ruby. An expansive, complex bouquet evokes fresh blackberry and boysenberry, lifted by a sexy floral topnote and a hint of incense. Silky, sweet and palate-caressing, with intense black and blue fruit flavors given spine by tangy acidity. This juicy, pure wine finishes with excellent clarity and smooth, building tannins.
