The 2007 Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons is the first vintage of this cuvée over which Rodolphe Péters had complete control, and he has grounds for satisfaction. Wafting from the glass with notes of warm bread, amaretti biscuits, ripe citrus fruit, candied peel and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with a racy spine of acidity, refined structure and a long finish.

Light, green-tinged yellow. Vibrant citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complicated by notes of iodine, dusty minerals and quinine. Taut, spicy and dry, conveying a distinctly juicy quality to its orange and bitter pear skin flavors. This wine put on weight with air while maintaining its vibrancy. Finishes with excellent clarity, lingering minerality and a sneaky flourish of honeysuckle. Disgorged in April, 2014.

Sensual and impeccable, the 2007 Brut Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons is wonderfully open and expressive today. Texture and silkiness as the signatures in a wine that impresses for its fabulous overall balance. Sage, mint, pear and green apple built towards the effortless, gracious finish. The 2007 may not turn out to be one of the all-time great Chétillons, but is absolutely delicious today. Disgorged April 2014. Dosage is 4.7 grams per liter.

What a pleasure it is to taste the 2007 Cuvée Spéciale Les Chetillons. An absolutely impeccable Champagne, the 2007 is gorgeous today. Crushed flowers, sage, almonds, lemon peel and ripe, juicy pears inform the supple, resonant finish. In 2007, the Chetillons is a model of grace and finesse. This is the first vintage Rodolphe Péters made from start to finish, and he nailed it.
