(tasted from a new 350-liter barrel): Reticent aromas of wet stone and smoky reduction. Broad, slightly reduced yellow peach fruit comes across as a bit heavy for Chevalier, perhaps due to the element of leesy reduction. Could use a bit more cut for its size. Finishes a tad blowsy, with a touch of phenolics and moderate real cut. This will require revisiting from bottle.
