Tasting Notes
A combination of both wood and natural spice adds breadth to the otherwise ripe and fresh dark currant, earth and soft floral aromas. There is a supple mid-palate to the highly refined and very classy medium weight flavors that possess a mouth coating and strikingly persistent finish that is a model of style and grace. This should be approachable and enjoyable young as there is plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract present. Tasted: Apr 15, 2014. Drink: 2024+

The 2012 Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru has a primal, animally bouquet with broody dark berry fruit - bouquet with intent, yet tightly coiled and broody. The palate is very precise with touches of balsamic and spice. It unfolds in the glass and leads naturally toward the long finish that fans out beautifully. Excellent. Feb 2014, www.robertparker.com
