3,060 bottles from 1.254 acres of 37 year old vines. 85% new oak casks, bottled late June 2002. Burghound: 91, WA: 90 Recent rave reports of bottles from vintages such as 1962 and 1966 . Racy and lively. Sinewy with good Chevalier grace. Dry on the finish and just very slightly dull but this is the best Louis Latour wine I have had for quite a long while. (JR)

The ripe apple-scented 2000 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles is tight and linear. Light to medium-bodied, it is a lace-like, detail-oriented wine with toast and Red Delicious apple-like flavors. Projected maturity: 2003-2011. Maison Louis Latour has a different importer in each state.

About the producer
The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
