Good full, deep red. Plum, coffee, mocha, smoke and minerals on the nose. Fat, sweet and rich, with enticing fruit and solid backbone. Finishes with firm tannins and very good length. Madame Lamarche says the '04 is longer, but I find this much more harmonious.

Lack of freshness on the nose then rather raw, crude fruit. Thick, sweet, heavily extracted with very obvious acidity. (JR)
