Score 91.5/100 · Drink 0-0, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Good full cherry color. Brooding aromas of blueberry, cassis, mint, herbs and lead pencil. Very tightly wrapped and intensely flavored; dominated by its structure today. The wine's strong stony minerality accentuates the impression of austerity. Finishes quite tannic and backward but with sneaky length. This will require extended aging.
