Tasting notes
Pale gold. Aromas and flavors of tangerine, lemon zest, white flowers and minerals, plus subtle notes of sweet butter and anise. Spicy and precise, showing a suave blend of depth and vivacity and finishing very long, with lingering mineral and floral nuances. This Champagne should evolve slowly on its balance.

The 2006 Brut Blanc de Blancs from Diebolt-Vallois is gorgeous from the very first taste. Hints of brioche, nutmeg, pears and dried apricots flesh out in the glass. The 2006 is rich, deep and fleshy. Warm, toasty notes add considerable depth and textural richness, while sweet floral and mineral overtones add finish vibrancy to the finish. This gorgeous, beautifully balanced Champagne is firing on all cylinders. I imagine the 2006 will be even better in another few years when more tertiary notes develop, but it is highly pleasing even today.
