Tasting notes
Bright silver-straw color. High-pitched aromas of fresh citrus and orchard fruits, with iodine, smoky mineral and jasmine nuances adding complexity. Dry and precise on the palate, offering nervy Meyer lemon and bitter pear skin flavors and emerging notes of anise and quinine. Tangy citrus pith notes and a sexy floral quality linger on the incisive finish

(made from 100% pinot meunier; disgorged October, 2011; LC09): Light yellow-gold. A heady, complex bouquet evokes pear skin, redcurrant, blood orange, chalky minerals and butter toast, with a smoky nuance in the background. Juicy and precise, with impressive clarity and lift to its red berry and citrus fruit flavors. The mineral element comes back strong on the finish, which shows excellent clarity and persistence.
The NV (2009) Brut Nature Les Beguines is pure seduction. At once fabulously rich yet understated, the 2009 impresses for its overall balance and finesse. Sweet yellow stone fruits of all sorts flow effortlessly from the glass. Hints of tar, smoke, incense and hazelnuts are layered into the polished finish. This is a Champagne of exceptional elegance and refinement. Disgorged October 2011.
