Good dark red. Reduced, musky aromas of wild berries, chocolate, roasted meat and espresso. Rich, ripe, smooth and classically dry, with a suave, enveloping texture. Strong soil tones of smoked meat and minerals. Finishes broad and dry, with plenty of perfume and lift. This has considerable appeal, but the pronounced reductive quality is a bit worrying.

Red-ruby. Reduced nose. Sweet and silky in the mouth; less obviously fat than the Boudots but more floral and minerally, offering a lovely light touch. Meunier, though, prefers the more harmonious texture of the Boudots.
