Tasting notes
I previously reviewed the 1998 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois prior to bottling, and it is living up to my expectations. It exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a moderately intense nose of black fruits, licorice, spice, pepper, and smoke. Displaying moderate tannin with exceptional concentration, it will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring. It is one of those rare Liracs that will age for 10-15 years.
